Herbal Remedies For CONVULSION




Convulsion can be described as a sudden, violent, irregular movement of a limb or of the body, caused by involuntary contraction of muscles and associated especially with brain disorders such as epilepsy, the presence of certain toxins or other agents in the blood, or fever in children.

HERBAL REMEDIES: 




1.  DRY PAWPAW LEAVES:

The dry brown pawpaw leaf is a good remedy for convulsion. Pick up the dry fallen pawpaw leaves and grind into powder. Add two table spoonfuls of the powder to half a glass of palm kernel oil, stir well and  rub all over the body. This preparation is of great help during an attack of convulsion. It is also very helpful in cases of high fever to bring down the body temperature.



2. STOOL WOOD:

Stool Wood, scientifically called ALSTONIA BOONEI, many West African tribes refer to it as God's tree "Onyame dua" known as Egbu in Igbo, Ahun in Yoruba or Ojegbukhu in Esan is also very good in the management of convulsion.

Soak the freshly cut bark in warm water for 12 hours. Take a glass twice daily.



3. Wild Sage


LANTANA CAMARA, known in English as Wild Sage, the Hausas call it Kimbar while Yorubas call it Eleku, or Ewon agogo.

It contains Alkaloids and essential oil
It is also very good for convulsion Boil the fresh leaves in water and drink one glass twice daily



 4. African Cucumber:


MOMORDICA CHARANTIA, known in English as African Cucumber, in Igbo as Alo ose, in Yoruba as Ejirin-wewe

This contains Alkaloids, Minordicinre, Saponins, Charantin, Oleic acid.
Make an infusion of the fresh leaves with bitter leaves. Drink one glassful twice daily
